Kava Stories - Ep. 2
Name
Morgan Deegan
When and how did you discover kava?Â
I knew of kava for a while, and had started to see more content related to it popping up on various social media platforms, but when I quit drinking alcohol, I began to think about it more. To ask myself if beginning to use another substance might eventually become problematic for me, and sought out some more information. What sold me on giving it a shot was the reverse tolerance, and the inherent inability to overconsume. When I went in to Ohana downtown, I was all the more sold by how warm, non-judgmental, kind, compassionate, and worldly the folks inside were.
How has kava impacted your life?Â
How has Ohana Kava Bar impacted you on your kava journey?
Ohana Kava Bar has been my main spot for a year now. I lived downtown and loved the proximity. Now I live uptown and am experiencing becoming more involved in the community at the North bar. Ohana means so much to me, because we really are like family, only better because the social group is such that everyone approaches most issues with curiosity and kindness first. Because of my time spent at Ohana, I have at least a dozen people I could (and have in the past) call on in the event of an emergency… a true sense of community. I have learned so much about myself and others from the community at Ohana.
How would you rate the positivity of your experience with kava?
